Furry Friends Foster and Rescue, Inc., is committed to helping the dogs who need us the most!

We are a dog rescue only. We love all living creatures, but made the decision several years ago that we needed to focus on dogs rather than spreading ourselves too thin by including cats and small animals in our rescue efforts. There are many reputable cat and small animal rescues in CT, and we encourage you to contact one or more of them if you would like to rescue another species of animal.

Please also note that we do not have the ability to rescue wildlife. If you have concerns about wildlife, please contact CT Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, Wildlife Division or, if after hours, your local animal control. If animal control is closed and it is an emergency, please contact your local police dispatch.

We are a small group of committed rescuers in CT and focus primarily on dogs located in CT pounds. We do occasionally bring dogs into the rescue when the owners are unable to continue to care for them, and also occasionally take dogs from states other than CT. We maintain an active CT animal import license.

Our rescue is approved by the United States Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)(3) public charity. We are incorporated in the State of CT and also registered as a non-profit organization with the CT Department of Public Charities. We are a Bronze member of Guidestar. Our EIN is 46-4846415.

Our focus as a rescue is to help the dogs who need us the most - dogs with medical and/or behavioral needs who need a little extra in order to become happy, healthy, balanced dogs and make wonderful family members.

Our mailing address is PO Box 388, Milford CT 06460. Please note that our rescue is 100% foster-based. We do not have a shelter where you can walk in and visit. Most of our dogs live in foster homes with private families throughout the state of CT. We therefore ask that you go through the application/approval process prior to a meet and greet, which is always part of placement. Once you are approved to adopt a dog from us, we bring the dog to your home for a meet and greet with all family members and other pets, to ensure that the placement is an appropriate one for everybody.

We were founded in February, 2014 and since then have rescued hundreds of dogs (and a few cats).

We're continually growing and expanding! As a non-profit organization, we're totally dependent upon donations to fund our rescue efforts. We have established a fund for medical care, and also a fund for training. Our goal is to expand our abilities in both areas. If you are able to donate, please click on the "donate" button on our Donation Page to use your debit or credit card, or you are welcome to mail donations to our rescue address.

We always need more foster families! If you would like to become a foster, please click on our "Applications" page to fill out a foster application.
